A spooky night.

I scare easily. This morning something rather unusual and freaky happened and I ended up having a sleepless night. The first event was at 1am. Everybody in bed, no wind outside and all of a sudden I hear a thunder like noise then two things happened at the same time: my doorbell rang and my mobile phone charger went off and made a noise. I was spooked and tried to get to sleep. Then at about 3am it happened again. The doorbell rang and my charger made a noise at the same time. OMG. At this point I was ready to run into my parent's room and cry. hahaha. I had no sleep at all and I had to be up at 6.30am to drive my Aunty to the airport.

Which led me to an exciting discovery!

I was at the bookstore wandering around aimlessly looking at the books when I came across a title that made me do a double take- "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies". It's the same story but told with zombies in it. I had to read the first chapter. The first paragraph made me lol. "It is a truth universally acknowledged... that zombies like to eat brains" hahahahaha. It's made by some "quirky" publisher and the company redid another classic - "Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters". I love it.
I really, really, really want the Zombie book. lol.

Best burger in Melbourne.

I have finally gotten hold of How I met your mother season 4 (yay!) and I watched 6 episodes today. Sounds like a lot but I also went to uni and worked out (so I wasn't totally lazy). Then I laid in bed watching said episodes. Anyway, one of the episodes saw the gang search in vain for Marshall's so called "Best burger in NYC". It all started when 8 years earlier, Marshall wandered into a NYC burger joint not taking down its location nor name and discovered it to have the most amazing burger ever. He had never found it after that time so fast forward through the ep, they find it and the group experiences a 'burgasm'.

This got me thinking. I would like to know what Melbourne's best burger would be. Any suggestions? I mean, I know it's not real, but if Marshall can find one in the concrete jungle that is NYC then surely, there'd be one here, right?

500 days of summer.

Wow. I am so impressed with this movie, I need dotpoints to make myself coherent. lol.

1. It was very well put together. The jumps to and from various points during their relationship were clear and the different cinematic styles meshed into one wasn't messy. It wasn't too abstract, too obvious, too try hard or too plain. It was beautiful!

2. The actors were believeable and their portrayals honest. The way they acted as a couple to their mannerisms were never over the top nor underplayed. I adored the Ikea scene. lol.

3. The storyline was realistic.

Everything I like about art, theatre and movies were all rolled into one and I absolutely loved it. It's definitely one of the best movies I have seen in a very, very long time. Actually, it may even be my favourite movie. It just screamed 'JESSA' the whole time. From the technicals of the movie to the storyline lol. Love it.

Dali.

I have been meaning to visit Dali's exhibition at NGV for some time now and today I finally went. His sketches are intricate, beautiful and shows just how truly talented he was. My friend who's an amazing artist came with me and is now reinspired. If I was an artist, his work would greatly influence me.

This is my favourite.

Galatea of the spheres (1952)
The spheres represent atom particles and the woman is his wife. His attention to detail just blows me away.

My current obsession.

YSL cage boots.
I have been seeing them on catwalks and on models recently and thought wow, these are hot (maybe a tad scary looking). I'm glad that I decided to treat myself today because I bought myself a pair.
However, mine are imitation lol. Still, they're very sexy.
I love them.

Camera.

I would like to show the entire world (or for those who care) my most favouritest camera.

BE IN AWE!

Okay, okay so it isn't your CONVENTIONAL camera but hey it does this!

SURPRISE!!!
Lol. Recycled "tukola" (what we call coke) cans from Cuba. I found this little treasure wandering the streets of Trinidad. It's excellent for fooling people AND scaring kids (tried and tested on residents of Trinidad).

Taking its post up on some of my books that are on hold for the moment.
It makes for a good guard doesn't it? Its eyes glow. ooo.
(I apologise for the lighting)

That is all. Ciao.
xx.
