Scene: Unusual hot spring night. Seated outside on the patio underneath starlit sky. Dinner party.
Girl: (Sitting down) Hey, where did you get that? (Points to Corona)
Him: You want one?
Girl: Yeah, I'll get one later. (Proceeds to eat)
Him: (Gets up, walks over to the esky)
Girl: (Calling after him) Oh, it's okay! I can get it
Him: (Walks back with Corona in hand, uses shirt to uncap the bottle, hands it to girl)
Girl: Oh, thanks. You didn't have to.
Him: It's okay.

BIRTHDAY LIST.
I don't care that I'm a little under two months early, this year has gone by so fast my birthday will be here any moment! Usually people dislike their birthdays (fear of getting old perhaps?) but NOT me, I LOVE MY BIRTHDAY! It gives me a legit reason to be completely selfish and in love with myself :D
Here's what I want:
First and foremost-
A GIRLY BIKE! Preferably with a yellow frame or a pink one. I know, I know, I've been saying this for ages but I can't be stuffed buying myself one. A friend of mine has told me he has a rather large collection of bikes (thanks to hard rubbish) and he polishes them up to make them useable. If you are the said friend reading this, I'm trying to tell you something. Although I did ask you recently. lol. :)

This dress is ADORABLE! I love, love it!
From the back<3

That is all.
Although a one way ticket to either Paris or Cuba will suffice :)

Breakthrough.
I won't go into details but after a dnm with mum about something that has been occupying my mind for the last year or so (I spared the unnecessary details coz straight to the point is always best with her) and I finally got it. Everything she told me I already knew and it's what's my friends have been telling me. Then she asked one simple thing and it all made sense when she said it. I feel better now. I love how mums know everything and are ever wise. I think I just needed to hear it from the right person and that person was my mum. I love her so much.
What led to the DNM? Work. I had no idea that all this frustration was building up inside with no outlet that it all came out. Then it kinda snowballed. I was quite on the way home (rents picked me up lol) and I knew that my mum knew something was up.
It also led her to say this-
"Asian guys are pretentious, beware of Mediterreans and go for the Europeans- German or Swedish"
HAHAHAHAHA. She did of course acknowledge the exceptions in all categories. She's hilarious.

A spooky night.
I scare easily. This morning something rather unusual and freaky happened and I ended up having a sleepless night. The first event was at 1am. Everybody in bed, no wind outside and all of a sudden I hear a thunder like noise then two things happened at the same time: my doorbell rang and my mobile phone charger went off and made a noise. I was spooked and tried to get to sleep. Then at about 3am it happened again. The doorbell rang and my charger made a noise at the same time. OMG. At this point I was ready to run into my parent's room and cry. hahaha. I had no sleep at all and I had to be up at 6.30am to drive my Aunty to the airport.
Which led me to an exciting discovery!
I was at the bookstore wandering around aimlessly looking at the books when I came across a title that made me do a double take- "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies". It's the same story but told with zombies in it. I had to read the first chapter. The first paragraph made me lol. "It is a truth universally acknowledged... that zombies like to eat brains" hahahahaha. It's made by some "quirky" publisher and the company redid another classic - "Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters". I love it.
I really, really, really want the Zombie book. lol.

Best burger in Melbourne.
I have finally gotten hold of How I met your mother season 4 (yay!) and I watched 6 episodes today. Sounds like a lot but I also went to uni and worked out (so I wasn't totally lazy). Then I laid in bed watching said episodes. Anyway, one of the episodes saw the gang search in vain for Marshall's so called "Best burger in NYC". It all started when 8 years earlier, Marshall wandered into a NYC burger joint not taking down its location nor name and discovered it to have the most amazing burger ever. He had never found it after that time so fast forward through the ep, they find it and the group experiences a 'burgasm'.
This got me thinking. I would like to know what Melbourne's best burger would be. Any suggestions? I mean, I know it's not real, but if Marshall can find one in the concrete jungle that is NYC then surely, there'd be one here, right?

500 days of summer.

Wow. I am so impressed with this movie, I need dotpoints to make myself coherent. lol.
1. It was very well put together. The jumps to and from various points during their relationship were clear and the different cinematic styles meshed into one wasn't messy. It wasn't too abstract, too obvious, too try hard or too plain. It was beautiful!
2. The actors were believeable and their portrayals honest. The way they acted as a couple to their mannerisms were never over the top nor underplayed. I adored the Ikea scene. lol.
3. The storyline was realistic.
Everything I like about art, theatre and movies were all rolled into one and I absolutely loved it. It's definitely one of the best movies I have seen in a very, very long time. Actually, it may even be my favourite movie. It just screamed 'JESSA' the whole time. From the technicals of the movie to the storyline lol. Love it.

Dali.
I have been meaning to visit Dali's exhibition at NGV for some time now and today I finally went. His sketches are intricate, beautiful and shows just how truly talented he was. My friend who's an amazing artist came with me and is now reinspired. If I was an artist, his work would greatly influence me.
This is my favourite.
Galatea of the spheres (1952)
The spheres represent atom particles and the woman is his wife. His attention to detail just blows me away.

Camera.
I would like to show the entire world (or for those who care) my most favouritest camera.
BE IN AWE!

Okay, okay so it isn't your CONVENTIONAL camera but hey it does this!

SURPRISE!!!
Lol. Recycled "tukola" (what we call coke) cans from Cuba. I found this little treasure wandering the streets of Trinidad. It's excellent for fooling people AND scaring kids (tried and tested on residents of Trinidad).
Taking its post up on some of my books that are on hold for the moment. It makes for a good guard doesn't it? Its eyes glow. ooo.
(I apologise for the lighting)
That is all. Ciao.
xx.

OMGOMGOMG.
Guy in heels.
FIERCE!
I'm now convinced that it's BryanBoy. The filo fashion blogger who Marc Jacobs designed a bag after. I was at my friend's gig and a mate pointed out the guy in heels. At first I was like "wtf" then I realised that this dude walked with such ease and attitude it was hot! His whole appearance worked really well. No doubt I was impressed. Bryanboy is in town (so I found out just minutes ago upon visiting his site) andI believe it was him at the gig. I need confirmation!FIERCE!
I wishhhhhh I could have his picture here but his blog addy will do for now.

love.
**UPDATE**
Mate said that guy in heels IS NOT bryanboy. He could have left me in a delusional bubble.

vomit vomit poo poo
Today was very unproductive for me. I was going to type up my unit of work on maths for my gr. 5s but decided not to because I won't be at school tomorrow. It's what happens when I believe that I can overcome this sickness in a day and go out partying. It doesn't work like that. end up worse and voiceless. Not cool. Oh well.
Today I-
Today I-
- acted as driving instructor for brother to collect lunch and dinner. We couldn't be stuffed cooking.
- watched Ghosts of Girlfriends past and cried. LOL.
- slept after watching the movie and had the most whack dream. I had a dream that I yawned and my jaw was locked in place and everytime I tried to unlock it by closing my mouth it would feel like it would shatter. I remember it hurting. Also, somebody tried to be 'in a relationship' with me on fb. HAHA.
- was on the computer for the whole evening. Sad.

books, music and shows.
CHICAGO
Simplement magnifique. Amazing. Sexy. Hot. Dazzling. lol. I could go on and on and on but it was one spectacular show. My friend and I sat there with big smiles on our faces from the moment it started. We're watching it again. haha.
I still can't believe I did not watch it in New York City because I felt guilty for not watching it with my friend. You can't call me a bad friend. He half doesn't believe me that I didn't watch it because of him. ASK CHRISTINA. SHE WAS WITH ME. SHE WAS ASKING ME IF I WAS SURE. sigh. I'm a damn good friend. lol.
p.s. i want to watch Jersey Boys. anyone down??
BANDS
Saw a few mates of mine who are in bands over the weekend. Very talented they are. They are known as Left feels Right (I've been to nearly all their gigs, I'm such a fan lol) and The Analyte. Check 'em out ;)
One of my best lady friends made us a mixtape that's a soundtrack to her life and I have fallen in love with music all over again. I've been in this slump and have been listening to radio songs (that's good for a boogie) and haven't been listening to things that make me giggle and smile (helloo laura marling and lykke li *lol*)
Also another best mate of mine gave me a Jason Mraz live acoustic (minus the screaming fans *yay*) c.d. Mr. A-Z makes me swooooooooooooon! *heart flutter*
MOVIES
District 9. Thumbs up. Thumbs down to the dude who asked how i was during the movie. Shut the ef up and watch the damn movie. lol.
Coco Avant Chanel. Still have not seen it. Sigh.
The September Issue. I want to watch it now now now!
Drag me to hell. I liked it a lot! I know it looks stupid BUT i really enjoyed the old school cinematography.
BOOKS
When I read, I tend to read a few books at a time. Currently, I'm reading through the following:

Kid talk
Today we worked on fractions (I can hear your nonverbal utterances of dislike). They had to come up with their own fraction and show us, using a thinkboard (looks like a Y chart), what that fraction looks like (draw), feels like (make it as well as convert to % and 0.00) and sounds like (story). This was one story-
STORY FOR 2/12
If I accidentally shot two people out of twelve, that fraction is 2/12.
DRAWING
Twelve circles, 2 circles had faces on it and were crossed out.
I was a little worried but then I looked at the back of his sheet and he had drawn a peace symbol with the word HIPPIE above it.
I don't know what is going through his head. Maybe he's just thinking outside the box and doesn't want to tell a story using the standard pizza.

Kids.
Teacher- "... Now I want you to write an explanation text of your own. Remember, you need to write 'why' and 'how' things happen or work"
Grade 5 kids start planning.
Gr. 5 student- "Miss, I can't think of a topic"
Teacher- "I'm sure you can think of something"
5 minutes later
Gr. 5 student- "Miss! Can I write "Why people do drugs?" I'm serious"
lol.

noob = herpes
Makeup and me have only started getting to know each other. I'm still trying to figure out the rules and whatnot when it comes to choosing the correct product for my skin type, purposes of wearing it etc etc. Anyway, I've rediscovered my love for lipstick. I'm not a huge fan of those glossy types because my lips are big enough as it is, I don't need shine to make them bigger. So, I was at priceline today looking at the new Covergirl lipstain range when I took a tester and applied it to my lips. One of the workers stops me and says "Don't do that, just apply it to your skin. It's for your own safety". Uh-oh. Herpes. I totally forgot. I grabbed a few tissues and frantically wiped the lipstain away.
Sigh.
Let's hope that all is fine.
*I know that I'm probably overreacting but hey, you never know. lol.

something stupid.
i've been wearing glasses forever because a) it's easy & b) i've been too lazy to buy more contacts once i finished them last time.
this person did not believe me.
s: didn't you once tell me that you hid behind your glasses?
me: um, no, that's what you thought
s: no, i'm pretty sure you told me that
me: i never said that
s: you've repressed that conversation deep down so that you won't have to remember it
me: *rolls eyes*
s is referring to (someting i like to forget ever happened) our first and only date.

When you want something, then get something different.
Is it just me or do others get something they hadn't intended on getting while wanting to purchase a particular thing? For example, you go out knowing you want shoes and instead you buy jeans? Or vice versa? I've noticed that I do it all the time. Just today I went out roaming the streets of Melbourne looking for places that may stock month-to-view diaries. I wandered in Dymocks thinking "why not?" and wound up buying two novels with no month-to-view diary.
The other week, I was on the lookout for a pair of flats and wound up buying two pairs of ankle boots (one i've been wanting for AGES and the other were basically a steal).
Why do I do it? I'm narrowing it down to these options:
If anybody knows where I can buy the month to view diaries, please let me know. Aug to Dec are the most hectic months for me!

- I'm impatient so I just grab the next best thing
- I'm on a spending binge because I've been broke for weeks now
- I deserve whatever I want because I earned this money!!

the idea of perfection.
I don't like it when people describe other people as perfect. It usually happens when they're gushing over somebody. This is my opinion but I just don't believe it exists, and if it does, then I feel sorry for that person. Personally there is only one thing that is perfect and that's God. Perfection in people, as I believe, is the point to which there is no beyond. They've arrived at the place that most people spend their time getting to, if that's what they want, and usually don't end up there. Perfection is a totality and not a part. Why would you want to achieve perfection? If life is all about learning and discoveries then where does perfection help? Personally, you'd be boring.
If my partner was perfect, I wouldn't want to be with him. I don't want to be the only person in the relationship going through faults, learning on my own and making mistakes because then i'd feel alone. Also, I believe the word perfect is a jinx. Once you say somebody is perfect for us, something goes wrong and usually it's because we've created this non idealistic view of this person and once they behave below that idea, we're immediately disappointed. It's almost similar to expectations. We shouldn't create any so that we don't get disappointed or bitter. With perfection, I believe that we shouldn't describe somebody as that because then we'll be on the lookout for faults and if they happen, often they do, then we're disappointed.
However, I believe that there is somebody who's right for you. I'm not cynical, I'm just realistic. Usually in our world, if something is too good to be true than it usually is.

because i'm a girl.
I can't help myself when i'm surrounded by pretty things when i'm out and about. it is because of these pretty things that make me giggle and twirl and make me spend my hard earned money on. the following are on the list.

This is an FCUK casual dress. I don't usually shop here but i like this dress.

Another FCUK dress. I like simple dresses.

Okay, these are what I just saw now. I wouldn't mind owning a pair of casual go-to-uni type of boots. Since my favourite ones broke and my other ones get my feet wet when it's raining :(
Okay. SO the ones I really want, I can't find.
Doesn't matter. I like all things pretty and things that make me so glad that i'm a girl.
xoxo.

les etoiles
Okay. So, i'm completely noob at this whole blogging thing and making it all snazzy and stuff with a music player and etc etc. Considering this, I've decided to just type, or rather, copy and paste the lyrics to a song that I can't get out of my head. It's by Melody Gardot and the song is Les Etoiles
Les étoiles les étoiles les étoiles
Dites-moi étoile, pourquoi je vous regarde?
Les étoiles les étoiles les étoiles
Dites-moi, étoile qui vous regardera?
(scat)
Les étoiles les étoiles
Si seulement je savais
Dites moi étoile de qui obtenez-vous la lumière
Les étoiles les étoiles
Vous qui êtes belle dans les cieux
Dites-moi étoile, qui vous donnera l’amour?
(scat)
The stars the stars shining up above
Tell me stars who will give you love
The stars the stars lights of white and blue
Tell me stars why I look to you
(scat)
Simplement magnifique.
Her voice is the epitome of beautiful. Her and Adele. Ahh... bliss.
And not just because she sings in french. Okay, maybe a little... a lot :)

a frozen dose of happiness
3 days at the snow
10 highschool friends
1 apartment
and x amount of snowboarding amazingness (or falls)
equals
neverending fun!
i'm so excited because whenever they go on a trip together, i'm never in the country SO now's the time to get the party STARTED! haha. the only thing i'm worried about is driving up the mountain everyday... the guys will be driving sooooo... i trust them completely but... i hope they've driven up there before lol...
i love my highschoolers. we've been friends since we were 12 and so we've gone through all the hormonal stages together leaving no room for awkwardness :) we've seen each other when the girls were taller than the guys, when the guys still had squeaky voices, when the girls started to grow into ladies, when the hormones kicked in and we got emotional over everything and when we started to take our studies and future a lot more seriously. sometimes i feel so incredibly lucky to have them as my friends. through all the frustrations we're still loyal to each other. for that i'm truly grateful. although i don't see the guys as much as i do the girls, the feeling of being around them hasn't changed from when i would be around them every day in high school...

A pretty random entry.
I love how things fall into place. It doesn't always go through avenues you'd like but always in the end, you smile. Or when things happen unexpectedly. When things don't go according to plan, when people piss me off or when I let myself down, I know that these things happen for a reason (overused expression, I know) and whenever I remind myself of that, I go along for the ride and know that something better will be there for me. It eases me. It's probably why i'm not such an angry person. I do, however, have a short fuse. Then in about twenty minutes, I'm over it. lol.
ANYWAY, what i really wanted to blog about was how different girls and guys are in different countries (i don't know where the above para came from). From my travels, i've come across really surprising ways guys do to get with the opposite sex.
OBSERVATIONS-

OBSERVATIONS-
- Cuba. Oh goodness. Sensuality was born here. The guys really make it known if they like you. They have no hesitations about it either. A mere 3 second glance is enough for them to turn their bikes around, come cycling your way and start to chat you up. I saw this happen to my tour leader. LOL. Or as happened to me, put their arm around you and take you out of your room while speaking in rapid spanish so while you feel confused you can't help but melt... hahaha.
- America. Same thing. Don't be surprised if they offer you breakfast, lunch and dinner. As one guy offered me. Also, 3 second glances is enough for them to chat you up too. If not, they'll walk pass you and say something like "You're beautiful/gorgeous/sexy" etc etc. They'll probably call out "Hey can I talk to you a second?" if you meet their gaze. This happened to Christina.
- Philippines. Maybe to the next level where they start proclaiming their love for you once you've said "Nice to meet you". They'll also tell you that they'll await your return (and when you do, they're married with a kid lol). Happened to a friend of mine.
- Australia. How would we know if a guy liked us??? They have no game. Also, if ANY of the above happened here, us girls would probably think they're a freak and would run to the other side of the room. Which begs me to wonder WHY is it like this???

MJ.
I remember being maybe 8 or 9 listening to his albums and dancing around in my lounge room. Back then I never listened to the lyrics (I still don't... i like listening to songs as a whole without knowing what the lyrics are) and I attribute my fear of the song "Man in the mirror" to this fact. I always thought he was talking about some ghost he always saw when he looked in the mirror. Now that I'm older (maybe wiser) I understand what the song is about and is now one of my favourites. Another favourite of mine is undoubtedly everybody else's favourite- Remember the time. I could go on and list many others like: Dangerous (very sexy song), They don't really care about us, Don't stop til you get enough etc etc.
Watching his videos/dvds all over again really made me see how incredible a dancer and singer MJ really was. My all time favourite clip would have to be Smooth Criminal. I absolutely love the fact that every movement of every person in the clip is choreographed and tells the story. I think it's genius. Also, maybe it's because I'm a sucker for guys in suits and it's a double whammy if they can dance, DAYMNN haha. I particularly like the brief dance between MJ and the girl *swoon*
I'm not too sure if I've seen choreography like it... most of the choreography I've seen just compliments the story... And don't talk to me about that abstract shit.
I majored in Drama for my undergrad and it was my best study score (not to boast, but the best score for my high school) and for some reason we love to study the abstract part of drama. I used to be spellbound by it all but to be honest, sometimes I don't like to think what it could mean and leave endings open-ended and up to your imagination and sometimes abstract or otherwise affectionately called "Interpretive dance" looks stupid and leaves you thinking "wow, that director must be nuts". lol. I have seen one too many.

Genius, icon and legend.
Life.
"Believe in everything until you find out otherwise (even after)"- Sark. Living Juicy- Daily morsels for your creative soul.
One flip through this book of hers confirmed everything I already knew: Life is not meant to be taken so seriously. We live in this fast-paced world where we calculate every movement we make leaving no room for surprise or spontaneity. If you want to do something, just do it. There is absolutely NOTHING stopping you except yourself. Why doubt? Why blame others? They're just excuses. Don't think about the future. The distant future anyway.
Who cares if people will think you're acting 14 when you're supposed to be acting your age. Exactly who defined that? Who cares if people think your outfit is mismatched; you feel fabulous in it. Learn to forgive others, you'll grow as a person. Don't be afraid of making mistakes; how else would we learn?
Splurge once in a while. Do something you wouldn't do but have always flirted with the idea. Don't deny yourself of an emotion. Harbouring emotions and not fully allowing yourself to express them may manifest in unhealthy, undesirable and potentially destructive behaviours. Be angry, cry, yell at the top of your lungs because you're so happy, smile, frown, be confused! Life is here to be enjoyed.
Take some time out. Log out of facebook/myspace/hotmail, turn the computer off and go into the garden and dig up some dirt. Find those butchyboys (never really knew how to spell the name) and make them turn into balls of fear, climb trees, chase the wind, cloud-watch, play hide and seek, hug your parents just because, tell your siblings you love them (you'll find their reactions rather amusing), surprise your family with a cooked meal you prepared yourself, go on that holiday, tell that person you find them very attractive, smile at a passer-by, tell your friends you love them, tell your family you appreciate them, learn to (insert whatever it is you've been meaning to take up).
I know life throws many a thing to throw you off, piss you off and frustrate you. Be thrown off, be pissed off, be frustrated. Then go on your merry way :)
XOXO.

just something short.
I've always liked the concept of honesty. Tonight, however, a friend of mine challenged what honesty really means. He thinks it's not real. Well, he didn't say that but he thinks that nobody is truthful to such an extent that we'd like to believe. He asked "What's so good about being honest?" to which I replied "People can trust you". Right?
To me, honesty really is everything. I know that people tell lies to save themselves but when people lie to save themselves and hurt others, that's when I don't agree with them. I think that's just selfish and cowardly.
*Friend is not a cold hearted person who lies unashamedly on a regular basis.
** If said friend is reading this and is wanting to correct anything, go for it. It is way past bedtime for me so I may have heard you incorrectly about something.

trend.

I don't like trends. I could be called a hypocrite but honestly, I try to stay away from what's "in". The attitude here is to not look like anybody else, which is fine but what results are clones. People are so desperate to look original and 'edgy' that they end up looking like each other. It annoys me. I think people are just trying to find what their style is and what they're comfortable in but sometimes they're too afraid to just go that left of centre...
My mum always says this to me and it's one piece of advice I go when I dress up: "Just be comfortable and you'll look great in anything"
Anyway, see this headband? I saw a grey non flannelette version of it in Urban Outfitters and fell in love. Unfortunately, I didn't buy it. I have regretted it since.
If anybody has the grey non flannelette version or know if UO still stock it, please let me know.
xo.

First.
Hola.
I've already got a blog out there somewhere in the cyber world but I've decided to set up another one. This time, I actually remember what site it's on and my password is. I don't have a specific topic that I'll focus on but just my random thoughts on things, places, people and situations...
Anyway, enjoy reading :)
