A pretty random entry.

I love how things fall into place. It doesn't always go through avenues you'd like but always in the end, you smile. Or when things happen unexpectedly. When things don't go according to plan, when people piss me off or when I let myself down, I know that these things happen for a reason (overused expression, I know) and whenever I remind myself of that, I go along for the ride and know that something better will be there for me. It eases me. It's probably why i'm not such an angry person. I do, however, have a short fuse. Then in about twenty minutes, I'm over it. lol.

ANYWAY, what i really wanted to blog about was how different girls and guys are in different countries (i don't know where the above para came from). From my travels, i've come across really surprising ways guys do to get with the opposite sex.
OBSERVATIONS-

  • Cuba. Oh goodness. Sensuality was born here. The guys really make it known if they like you. They have no hesitations about it either. A mere 3 second glance is enough for them to turn their bikes around, come cycling your way and start to chat you up. I saw this happen to my tour leader. LOL. Or as happened to me, put their arm around you and take you out of your room while speaking in rapid spanish so while you feel confused you can't help but melt... hahaha.
  • America. Same thing. Don't be surprised if they offer you breakfast, lunch and dinner. As one guy offered me. Also, 3 second glances is enough for them to chat you up too. If not, they'll walk pass you and say something like "You're beautiful/gorgeous/sexy" etc etc. They'll probably call out "Hey can I talk to you a second?" if you meet their gaze. This happened to Christina.
  • Philippines. Maybe to the next level where they start proclaiming their love for you once you've said "Nice to meet you". They'll also tell you that they'll await your return (and when you do, they're married with a kid lol). Happened to a friend of mine.
  • Australia. How would we know if a guy liked us??? They have no game. Also, if ANY of the above happened here, us girls would probably think they're a freak and would run to the other side of the room. Which begs me to wonder WHY is it like this???
I know it's a totally different society but for a laid back country, girls are pretty uptight. Not excusing myself but once I realised that maybe guys do just want to talk, I gave this guy who started chatting to these two lady friends of mine, (much to their displeasure), a chance and we spoke about travelling. Not bad. I know that over in Sweden, if a guy was to go up to a girl, the girl would totally accept it. We have these preconceived ideas about guys and it's probably why people here are single. Guys are too afraid because they're scared the girls are gonna chop their heads off for simply looking and the girls just think "Where is my tall, dark, handsome lawyer/muso/artist/doctor/whatever who likes to do things I want a guy to do?". As a girl to another girl (if you are one), I'm telling you that they ain't coming. Have less expectations and you won't be disappointed.

  1. Hey gorgeous, lol. Points taken & noted! So basically... 1) Learn Spanish. 2) Offer free food. 3) Profess our love (preferably in Spanish).

I've learnt something new today Ms.Amedo. Glad to read you're back to blogging!
